Re: Pyrex is no more.
My money says it's a Windows issue, not a hardware issue. Once it does the POST (power on self test, first loading screen) does it boot to a black screen with a cursor? A black screen with nothing? A BSOD?
Try getting into safe mode or last known good config (usually pressing F8 on bootup will load advanced boot options, different key depending on manufacturer)
Try a boot disc & startup repair options.
If all else fails I can get you a copy of Win7 Ultimate, which you can burn to a DVDR/RW and reformat your drive > clean install a new OS. That should fix you right up, but you'll lose any data on the drive. ALWAYS keep your operating system on a separate drive partition, or ideally on a completely separate hard disk. I keep a 120GB C drive for my OS, and a 250GB D drive for my kiddie porn.
I'll help you work on getting it sorted out tomorrow. Many PC's will look 'dead' when in fact the hardware is perfectly fine, but the OS gets stuck from not shutting down properly. Also, get a surge protector!

Re: Pyrex is no more.
Explain to me what it was doing.
Psyko & Myself are computer technicians. He still works as one to this day and is really good at it. I worked for EVGA as Tech Support.
I'm sure we can pinpoint the problem for you.
